What do you want from life?
The 1st secret is to understand the value of your life. You need to find purpose and discover what you can achieve
if you apply yourself. Exist or Live? That is the choice that all of us have from our first breath to the time we
perform the tango with the Grim reaper on our death beds. Don’t let life pass you by, you only ever get one
crack at it and then like a puff of smoke you are gone.
Are you simply going to let your memories fade and get buried under the dusts of history? Ask yourself
some hard questions - Where do you see yourself in a few years? How will you look? What will your job/career be?
Will you be promoted? Will you still be in the same relationship? What will your bank account look like?
How many businesses will you have started and stopped? Will you be in the same house? Will you have
the same circle of friends? Will you have kids, more kids? How big and wonderful do you want your life to be and
what are you going to do about getting yourself in pole position? Above all else, will you be where you want to
be or will you look back at the past few years with a bitter taste in your mouth as you think back wistfully to
how you could have done so much more? It is time to take a hold of the life you want and find out where your
purpose and talents are. You have the chance to do exactly that and make the changes right now rather
than wait many years for that moment of dread when you have just taken those precious years off of your
body clock, never to return again. Give yourself the chance now to make your great escape from a routine
life to one of splendid adventure and hope.
Never rest on your laurels, never think you have got life licked, and never believe that you no longer need to be a
student of life for it will teach you something new each day as an experience or a painful lesson depending on
your interaction. Always keep your cup half empty for no-one knows it all, it takes a lifetime to experience a
fraction of what life has to offer.
Move ahead in your life because no-one is going to do it for you, knock on as many doors as you can to pursue
your dream if you are truly passionate about something you love. If you hear something that you don’t
understand then take time out of your day to research it because any form of nourishment for your brain is
healthy, don’t sit there in blissful ignorance and laziness because the only loser in that particular exchange would
be you. Feed the brain, tickle your neurons and have the knowledge that you are growing every day.
Visualisation (the world within your body) is a skill that absolutely everyone can be proficient at with a little
practice and as you have already read is an integral factor in success along with the law of attraction. All you
need is some space to rest your mind and the ability to tap into your creativity and imagination, the rest will
take care of itself. It is a self-hypnosis tool that enables you to expand your mind to take you to anywhere you
desire. Think about some of the greatest businesses and projects over the years and how they were invented,
think about architects before they construct a house, you can bet yourself one thing and that is they were
all the creation in someone’s mind through visualization of sorts. If they can do it then be confident that you can,
forget money and wealth for the time and just concentrate on your dream and vision through visualization
and see where you go with it.
Inspirational story 1 – A call from above
A mother was busy working on her laptop one day trying in vain to catch up with the mounting paperwork
that was accumulating in her job as an invoice clerk for a reputable company. The stress was mounting as she
tapped furiously on the laptop, whilst also answering invoice queries on her phone as she did on a daily basis.
Right then her 6 year old daughter returned from school having been dropped off by a neighbour and the mother
hugged her before focussing back on her job. The little girl however remained next to her mummy with a sad
look on her face. The mother looked up and smiled but continued to work, punching the keys on the laptop. The
girl went to speak, obviously troubled about something, but the irritated mother quickly snuffed out any
hope of a conversation and told her to go away and do her homework. The girl went to speak again, ‘But
mummy, this is important…I…’ The mother curtly snapped the laptop down and shouted, ‘What is it?’
The little girl said, ‘Well at school I…’ Suddenly the phone crackled into life and the mother answered it
leaving the little girl standing for several minutes. After finishing the call the mother lifted up the laptop and
continued typing whilst mumbling, ‘Go and get changed I am busy, maybe we can chat later.’ The little girl walked
away disconsolately, with her tiny sobs being drowned out by the next phone-call for her mother. Several days
later whilst the mother was sat at home again on the laptop and answering calls she heard a loud bang outside
just when her daughter was meant to be coming home from school and she raced outside to see what had
happened. She reeled back in horror as she witnessed every parent’s worst nightmare as both the neighbour
and her little girl had been mercilessly knocked down and killed by a car as they crossed the road. The mother
was inconsolable for an eternity after the loss of her daughter, and it was only after several weeks that she
mustered up the courage to go into her daughter’s room where she stumbled across a diary on her desk. She
wiped her tears and read the contents and in particular the last few days of her little life. She could not bear to
read the entry for the day she had snapped at her daughter as it read, ‘I wanted to tell mummy that I am
being bullied at school and just wanted a big hug to make it all better, I don’t think I can take it…I feel so
alone, maybe if the bullies kill me then I can phone mummy from heaven and she could talk to me.’
Every phone-call that came to the house from that moment onwards and for the rest of her life made the
mother shudder and bear a feeling of deep regret. Moral of the story - Don’t become so consumed in
everyday tasks that you forget what is truly important to you. Life is precious and is filled with precious people so
love them and be there for them – always!
The science of being smart and successful Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the essence of
excellence, the code of subjectivity and its roots are embedded in studying human behaviour and modelling
them. It provides you with the techniques to change preprogrammed problems within your mind and to
replace them with more empowering patterns. It is renowned as one of the finest tools available for
dramatic and fast results in mind change. If someone is outstanding at what they do then you adopt the same
actions, beliefs, strategies and values to also achieve the same level of excellence and enhance your performance.
It is a line of bread-crumbs leading back to the apex of brilliance. NLP can be applied in all aspects of life,
in business, education, sports, health and everyday living.
You will always have to overcome great obstacles in your life, that is the way the cookie crumbles, but who or what you are today because of them is invaluable and has helped shape your future. It is not what happens to you that is the problem, it is
how you tackle the problem that is the difference. Have a fresh, upbeat attitude and all the chips will fall into
place, they really will, one day! Remember that life will always give you lessons, for it is the most experienced of
teachers, it is what you do with those lessons that defines what happens next.
Why not do something different and wonderful every three months? It can be something that you would not
ordinarily do, a time for adventure, fun and shooting the adrenaline breeze, a day or event that you can look
forward to. I am sure that the vast creativeness of your own mind can conjure up many ideas for you to bring
some extra excitement to your existence, be it skydiving, running a half or full marathon, a visit to a
seaside resort, a theme park, a trip into the big bright lights of the city, a picnic, a series of beauty treatments
or a complete day of revitalising and rejuvenation, the choice is yours. Book it, think about it and look forward
to it as it will stir your heart like you would not believe.
Some people have that disenchanted, wasteful look about them as they skulk around the earth with sacks of
baggage weighing their shoulders down. These motivation (negative energy) drainers are those who feast
upon your life until you are a quivering wreck. One of these negativity vampires lurks amongst everyone you
know and one in five of your close acquaintances will be a student in the school of impending doom, a master
degree holder of positivity crushing aplomb. Stay on the path, be vigilant my friend and God speed. Don’t let a
persistent motivation vampire suck the goodness out of you with their woes, be ruthless and decisive as there is
no other language they understand. You must avoid these vampires like the bubonic plague as they will drag
you down to the very squalors of their existence, stealing every last trickle of hope you had of being positive in
the process. They will feast upon your last remaining droplets of hope and slosh around in the eviscerated
remnants of your stifled ambition, mocking you subconsciously and discarding your erstwhile yearning
for success like a dirty piece of rotting faeces.
Your very own thoughts can you put on the path to prosperity like nothing you will ever have
experienced before. Understanding and nurturing a positive mental attitude encompasses a crucial secret of
life that you need to follow. You are what you think and your thoughts are a manifestation of what you really
want out of life. You need to energise yourself with amazing thoughts to attract the positive elements of the
world to edify your spirit and give you the true belief that something magical will happen in your life.
The key is to take small steps towards your chosen goal or goals. The combination of tiny actions will eventually help you to
succeed and accomplish what you set out to achieve. As they say the only way to eat an elephant is a piece
at a time rather than devour the beast whole. To make progress to your goal by taking the smallest steps helps
you to enjoy little successes along the way and gain a sense of triumph. This is also known as the Kaizen
technique, (Kai means change – Zen means good). It is a Japanese philosophy where all the employees of an
organization continually make small improvements each and every day whilst making overall and eventual big
gains with the company. The strategy is effective as it enables you to get out of a stress-mess and reduce your
anxiety by performing little feats regularly without worrying about the entire problem in one sitting.
Inspirational story 8- It is a jungle out there
An ant was walking through the jungle one day when suddenly he noticed a spider resting by an old log in a
clearing. The ant gulped as the spider was four times the size of him and had already sat up to attention. However
the spider quickly allayed any concerns the ant had by explaining that he was different. He said, ‘I am not going
to bite you but I will join you for a stroll through the jungle if you want as I could do with stretching my legs?’
The ant asked curiously, ‘How can I be sure you are not going to bite me?’ The spider said, ‘Oh come on that
would be against jungle code now that we are talking to one another, right? Like I said trust me I am different.’
The ant was brought up to be nice to everyone and knew that an act of kindness would always prevail over
hostility in all circumstances. Fortified with these uplifting thoughts the ant walked up to the spider and
off they strolled together. They chatted away for ages like long lost mates and the ant was truly amazed at the
spider’s friendliness. The ant said, ‘Do you know you are the nicest…’ BANG! Without any warning the ant was
thrust straight down a dark hole and after tumbling for several inches found himself tangled up in a sticky ball of
web at the bottom that pinned him down rendering him helpless. He looked up utterly distraught as he saw the
hulking frame of the hairy spider slowly inching down towards him with a huge grin on his face. The poor ant
wept as he crowed, ‘How could you do this, why trick me?’ The trapdoor spider sidled up closer whilst trans -
fixing all eight of his eyes on him and said, ‘You should have kept your wits about you, after all it is a jungle out
there.’ The ant felt the silk threads tightening even more as the spider continued his pitch, ‘You knew I was a
dangerous spider you gullible ant, but yet you left your guard down, more fool you and now it is supper time.’
Upon hearing that, the defenceless ant closed his eyes, tears streaming down his cheeks as he prayed for a
swift and painless death. Meanwhile the spider moved towards him with his metaphorical knife and fork
slamming shut the trapdoor behind him and enshrouding the ant in darkness. It was time to feast on his winnings.
Moral of the story – Never let your guard down when there is imminent danger as it could land you in the
sticky stuff. Respect your fears and let them keep you alert and aware of your surroundings as such enemies
come at you in many ways.
